Happy Birthday to Katlyn

Tomorrow my oldest niece Katlyn turns 17 and my grandma turns 87.  I can't believe Kate is growing up so fast.  Here is a picture of her and one of grandma.

She loves camouflage.  I'm not quite sure why or how she decided that was cool, but here's the card I made her.  I used the School Days stamp from Taylored Expressions.  I also added some roses from my new La-La Land crafts.  I've tried several rose dies and these are my favorites.  They roll so easy.  I also colored the girl with my copics.  Let me know what you think.

Taylored Expressions Last Card Standing

I'm really excited to post my submissions for the Taylored Expressions Last Card Standing contest.  For those of you who know me, you know how much my Mom and I and now my friend Karen love Taylored Expressions.   I've been traveling quite a bit for work so I haven't been able to post as much as I'd like.  I do have several things I will be posting that I've made over the last several months.  Here are my submissions.   Wish me luck!

Stampendous Saturday Challenge

It's all about summer at Stampendous.  For me, nothing says summer like fireworks and the fourth of July.  With my travel schedule being so crazy, it's been a while since I've had the opportunity to post.  Here is my take on the 4th of July using one of the best 4th of July stamps I've seen.  It's from a retired Stampendous set called Patriotic Pair.  I made three versions.

The Final Days of A Cut Above

I know I've shared projects recently created from the Cut Above class I'm taking.  I'm a couple of days behind, but I thought I'd share some of the additional projects I've made using the techniques.

Both of these cards are made with the Tim Holtz Vintage Cabinet die.  I just love that die and there are so many things you can make from it.  Here are all my samples:

Die Cutting

Paper:  Memory Box
Stamps:  Northwoods
Dies:  Tim Holz Vintage Cabinet, Spell Binders Fleur De Lis Motifs
Punches:  Martha Stewart Butterflies, Stampin' Up
Ribbon and Brads:  Stampin' Up

Stamps:  Taylored Expressions
Dies:  Tim Holz Vintage Cabinet

Stamps:  Stampin' Up - Up in the Air
Dies:  Stampin' Up Framelits
Punches:  Stampin' Up 5-Petal Flower

I just loving using this Spellbinder Grand Die to make cards.  The smallest two make the perfect card.  This stamp is from Stampourri and is called Babies All Around.  I picked it up at a great little stamp shop in Sand Diego called Of the Heart .  The woman who owns it, Gretchen is so nice and has just an amazing selection of stamps and dies.  They do a great deal of online business.  They are definitely worth checking out.

Sihouette

The cards are a set of thank you cards made from the Taylored Expressions Rosey Posey stamp set.  The box is the 3-D book box by Lori Whitlock.  She makes such great patterns for the Silhouette.

This is the 4-Piece Witch Boot available in the Silhouette store.  It worked great for a vintage boot, so I thought I'd make it a Mother's day card.

Lastly, this is another Lori Whitlock cut pattern.  It's the Library Pocket and Gift Card holder.  I've inserted a tag containing a baby announcement.  Paired with the Taylored Expressions Onesie Notecard die and some great Bella Blvd paper, it's just perfect for what I was trying to create.

We're going Blue for Monkey Challenge #106

I'm a little embarrassed.  The ladies at A La Card Monkey were kind enough to ask me to be a guest designer again this week.  I came home Friday and meant to post my submission on my blog and then I forgot.  I'm sorry ladies.  Here it is and it's not too late to join us.

For this week's A La Card Monkey Challenge #106, it's Something Blue + Sketch. We're looking for blue, blue and blue creations! The sketch is simple - three circles with a main image on top. Feel free to add embellishments or ribbon. Whatever makes you happy! Just have fun with it.

Here's my take on the sketch.  I used my two favorite color combos, Stampin' Up's Pool Party and Island Indigo.  I also decided to use roses instead of circles.  I pulled out one of my favorite Taylored Expressions stamp sets, Rosey Posey.  I just love that set and have used it for many projects.

The Greeting Farm - Farm Fresh Friday

I recently went to San Diego for work.  With a couple of hours to kill time and two nickles in my pocket, my co-worker (The Paper Stamper) and I decided to hit a few stamp stores.  To our surprise there were many and we could have spend a couple of days going through them.  One stamp company I was not familiar with was The Greeting Farm.  Of course, given my love for coloring I had to pick up a few of these adorable stamps.

The Greeting Farm has a challenge blog, so I thought I'd try a run at it.  I used the Flirty Anya stamp. I loved her so much I thought I'd make two cards.  Here's the sketch and my take on it.
